Exciting changes are ahead! Let Seagate help where we can.
Preparing for Your New Arrival
If you are pregnant and preparing to take a pregnancy disability leave, review the Pregnancy Leave Checklist [PDF] for details on how and when to apply for your leave. Follow the instructions to ensure that you are paid correctly for your absence.
Seagate also provides up to 16 weeks for both birthing and non-birthing parents to take Paid Parental Leave. The Parental Leave Checklist [PDF] will show you what you need to do.
Financial Support for Adoption
Adopting a child can make such a positive difference in a child’s life. It can also make a difference in your bank account. That’s why Seagate provides up to $5,000 to help you cover the costs of adopting a child.
Plan in Advance for Day Care
The Employee Assistance Program can help you find childcare services if you need them. If you’re planning to return to work, start looking for day care now, as day care centers often have long waiting lists. And we know childcare can be expensive. The Day Care Flexible Spending Account helps you save money by using pre-tax dollars to pay for childcare for any children under age 13.
Enjoying Time Together
Take Your Full Parental Leave
New parents can enjoy up to 16 weeks of time away from work via Seagate's Paid Parental Leave benefits. This time can be used to bond with your new child. Review the Parental Leave Checklist [PDF] for details on how and when to apply for your leave.
Don’t forget! You must add your new child to your benefits within 31 days of the birth or adoption if you wish to cover them on your Seagate benefits.
Life after Baby
When it's time to return to work, notify AbsenceOne. Also discuss your plans with your manager to ensure you both know what to expect when you return. For nursing mothers, lactation rooms are available at all six U.S. Seagate work sites. Their locations are referenced in the Pregnancy Leave Checklists.
