Exciting changes are ahead! Let Seagate help where we can.
Preparing for Your New Arrival
Our Pregnancy Leave Checklist [PDF] walks you through what you need to know for applying for a leave of absence. We also have a pregnancy checklist for employees in California [PDF].
Financial Support for Adoption
Adopting a child can make such a positive difference in a child’s life. It can also make a difference in your bank account. That’s why Seagate provides up to $5,000 to help you cover the costs of adopting a child.
Plan in Advance for Day Care
The Employee Assistance Program can help you find childcare services if you need them. If you’re planning to return to work, start looking for day care now, as day care centers often have long waiting lists. And we know childcare can be expensive. The Day Care Flexible Spending Account helps you save money by using pre-tax dollars to pay for childcare for any children under age 13.
Enjoying Time Together
Take Your Full Parental Leave
New parents can enjoy up to 12 weeks of time away from work via the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA). This time can be used for either medical needs and recovery due to giving birth or to bond with your new child. For exempt employees, Seagate will provide three weeks of pay. Depending on which state you live in and which type of leave you’re on, other leave time or payment options may be available.
Don’t forget! You must add your new child to your benefits within 31 days of the birth or adoption if you wish to cover them on your Seagate benefits.
Life after Baby
When it's time to return to work, notify AbsenceOne. Also discuss your plans with your manager to ensure you both know what to expect when you return. For nursing mothers, lactation rooms are available at all six U.S. Seagate work sites. Their locations are referenced in the Pregnancy Leave Checklists.
